Job Scope
This is a position within the Data & Analytics Team, directly reporting to the Sr. Manager Data Analytics.


About You

SkyTeam has embarked on a data transformation journey, aimed at maximizing the value of data, leveraging them as a strategic corporate asset, driving decision making and enhancing operational efficiency. Our Data & Analytics team is playing a key role in making this happen. 
 
As an Analytics engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team in charge of translating raw data into reusable analytic assets, not only for the different SkyTeam departments but also for member airlines. You will understand and anticipate both business and data requirements, identify how to optimally integrate data, evaluate analytic techniques, and develop reporting solutions that drive actionable insights, critical for decision making.  
 
In this role, you will contribute to improving the overall passenger and cargo experience, identifying and solving pain points throughout the travel ribbon, exploring and proposing options that can leverage data from the unique perspective of a global airline alliance.


Key Result Areas / Key Responsibilities 

  • Take full ownership on the whole cycle aimed at gathering business and data requirements, designing, building, testing and deploying end-to-end analytical solutions, while implementing automated methods for data collection, reporting, and analysis in an assigned domain.
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and integrate data in the most efficient way.
  • Develop and continuously enhance comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations while providing support and training to end-users on how to effectively utilize them to drive decision-making.
  • Maintain and optimize existing solutions, implementing best practices to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the whole data lifecycle. 
  • Utilize business analysis techniques to identify and explore the reasons behind pain points in the customer journey.
  • Suggest and guide relevant usage of data to internal and external stakeholders, regularly providing support and promoting a data culture.
  • Constantly monitor data availability from the different data sources, checking the reliability of solutions adopted.
  • Contribute to define and implement new processes, guidelines and policies on data governance and data management. 
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as key vendors and providers, for maximum effectiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships at all levels with each member airline, with a focus on data & insights stakeholders.
  • Responsibilities and tasks of the position are not limited to the above mentioned, and deviations can occur at any point in time as the position evolves and in concert with the manager

Must have:
Authorization to reside and work legally in The Netherlands on a full-time basis.
Your profile
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics or a related field and experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, analytics, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of the full data lifecycle and best practices on data management.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, PySpark or other programming languages used for data transformation, analysis, and automation.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools, preferably based on Power BI (Microsoft Fabric). 
  • Ability to work independently, delivering assigned tasks systematically without additional prompting.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, while working in rapidly changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Multi-cultural awareness.

This stage may also include a case presentation, providing you with an opportunity to showcase your problem-solving skills and industry acumen. On very rare occasions, there might be a follow-up third/final Interview. 
  4. Email Job Offer: Upon successful completion of the interviews, we'll present a job offer to you via email. 
  5. Contract/Offer: Finally, with much excitement, we'll prepare a comprehensive employment contract formalizing your new role at SkyTeam.
